Hello Alex,

Perhaps you can help me with a bit of translation ;-)

Please pardon my ignorance regarding this statement from Philippe:

"I am part of the organizing committee of a large scale event (>100.000
>  visitors) in France in 2010"

I have been puzzled for some time  by the custom of using the decimal 
point or "period" as has been done by Philippe.

In America, the figure, as he gives it, would indicate one hundred 
and zero thousandths visitors.

I take it he means one hundred thousand visitors.

How do the French indicate decimal fractions 
(tenths/hundredths/thousandths, etc.)?
