Some years ago I saw a Kettwiesel with a front wheel hub motor - the
battery was mounted just behind the front wheel under the main tube
(mounted fore and aft so it did not stick out and interfere with the
pedals) - with modern batteries the weight is less, but it would still
help.
When riding an unassisted Kettwiesel I rarely notice wheel slippage -
though when riding the front of two linked Kettwiesels with the rear
rider not really pedaling, the front wheel definitely skips from side
to side when climbing steep hills - this is not really a problem as
speed is very low in this situation.
