The weight of the motor certainly helps. In most occasions of regular
road use where you need assist there is no problem. If accelerating in
sand it will likely slip somewhat, or when climbing a hill with
gravel. Again, with most road use there is no issue at all. I haven't
electrified all models of delta trikes though, just some upright
trikes and my own homebuilt recumbent delta and a Sun EZ3. The
simplicity of a hub motor installation makes it a very attractive
option compared to other alternatives.
