Don't forget that the automotive types have had their 'go' and shown they're not necessarily able to do the deed or even understand what is needed...
A few years ago the Blue Yonder team spent an alleged GBP250,000 (US$375,000) putting together a 'Speed bike' to compete at Battle Mountain. They did this based on automotive principles, theoretical modelling and fancy materials rather than speaking to the HPV community - the result being a huge bike that looked to have maybe 3x the wet area of other Battle Mountain machines and achieved a top speed of maybe three-quarters that of the competition despite having an 'Olympian' engine.
No point really, other than don't wait for the automotive crowd to get the job done!
