[trikes] The answer to the question not asked...

We've been seeing these "Transformer" bikes at German and Dutch bike
shows for 3 or 4 years now -- first a single prototype, then a pre-
production model, and then what was promised to be a commercial
version. I'm not even sure that this one is from the same builder or
builders. There has been a lot of interest from recumbent enthusiasts.

Low, streamlined recumbents cut through the killer headwinds on the
splendid bike paths between north German, Danish, and Dutch cities,
but when you get into most towns in Europe, you really don't want to
be that low. A lot of folks just keep two bikes (or more) for the
different kinds of riding, but what if you are riding across country
and into a city?

This truly does answer a question that real cyclists are asking --
just not very often in the US.
