Fran, I have always found tadpoles faster than deltas.  But now that I am older and have great difficulty getting out of tadpoles I ride my Kettwiesel and before that my Greenway.  Having said that, except for my Windcheeta the difference was only 1 to 2 miles an hour.  Also now that I have gotten older (70 next week) I find I am not that fast on anything.  10-12 on the Kett, 12-14 on the Gold Rush and 11-13 on my Metro.  So I have quit worrying about speed and just ride along and enjoy the scenery.  My mileage has dropped from 100 miles/wk to 80 but I have quit sweating it.  

My advice, ride what feels best to you, don't worry about the speed and enjoy the ride.
